Rep. Steve Scalise Shot (OK, I lied. One Update)

I don’t want to draw any conclusions about this morning’s shooting in Alexandria, VA, in which Rep. Steve Scalise, Republican House Whip, was shot. I did want to mention the shooting, as well as what we know so far. CNN does have regular updates, so I’m linking to it here.

A gunman opened fire at a congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia, on Wednesday, injuring Rep. Steve Scalise, a senior Republican politician, as well as others, according to Rep. Mo Brooks, who was at the practice during the attack.

A note on the report. I don’t know if Brooks just doesn’t understand firearms, or whether CNN’s reporting is dumb, or whether it’s an unfortunate combination of both, but this…

“The gun was a semiautomatic,” Brooks said. “It continued to fire at different people. You can imagine, all the people on the field scatter.”

Um… what?

In any case, it appears at least one Capitol Police officer was shot, and the suspect is in custody. I won’t keep updating this, but will rather do a longer post once the story is solidified.

Thoughts with everyone involved.

UPDATE: I just ran across this on my lunch 5 minutes, so I thought I’d quickly update this post. The rancid bag of stale effluvia who went on a shooting spree in Alexandria this morning has been identified as the now thankfully deceased and rotting in hell James T. Hodgkinson of Belleville, Illinois. His FaceBook page is awfully illuminating. He’s apparently a rabid socialist piece of shit and a Bernie Sanders supporter. His profile photo is the following graphic, and his cover photo is a picture of a grinning Bernie Sanders.

Court records also show Hodgkinson was arrested in 2006 on the suspicion of battery, domestic battery, criminal damage of property and reckless discharge of a firearm.”

Nice guy.

The Chicago Tribune reports this violent, pro-tyranny cocksucker has a long history of being a… well… tyrannical, socialist cocksucker.

Over the years, Hodgkinson wrote more than a dozen letters to the editor of the local paper in which he supported higher taxes and advocated for Democratic candidates, such as John Kerry.

You want a civil war? Because that’s how you start a civil war, assholes. I didn’t think it would be long before the fascist dildoes of the progtarded left graduated from bottle throwing and forcibly shutting down opposing voices to shootings and murder.

Guess what, assholes! We’re way better armed and prepared than you are. You will die much like this unhinged knob-gobbler – painfully and alone and reviled by all normal people.

  1. I like the cnn, or whatever, reporting in that “IT” continued to fire.. As if the damn gun had a mind of it’s own with zero input from any outside force, thereby making guns unavoidabley “evil”….. They just do it on their own so they must be controlled and eliminated… Bloody fuckin idiot wanker asshats….. I guess by the same reasoning lawn grass should be outlawed too because it’s just as evil, what with adhering to the bottom of your foot and tracking into your house all the time…… How pathetic can our society be that they continue to listen to these simplified troglodytes….. turn em all off and read a good read, something like the Constitution maybe…..

  2. I won’t go into any part of the media’s crappy and biased reporting, it is expected and continues to get worse, if that is possible. What I will say is that no matter which party was attacked, my thoughts and prayers are with the people shot and the families of not only them, but also the people and families affected by the incident. These people are public servants, we need to remember, no matter what you might think of them, and many of them are actually trying to help their constituents back home have a voice. They didn’t sign up to be targets, nor did their families. This is not acceptable, by either side of the aisle.

  3. I don’t want to indict the entire left, but when you combine over the top language, assassination pr0n, have rioters and college students engage in violence with essentially no consequences these things are more likely to occur.

The guy was nuts, but so was the unabomber and he was influenced by the hardcore eco-movement. I was in Oregon in the early 1990s, and they were telling people to spike trees that were destined for the lumber mills, set fire to resorts so no wonder someone could think mailing bombs was acceptable.

  5. If he had a record like that, how was he able to buy a gun? Illinois does not allow private sales, so all sales have to go through a dealer – and one of their big reasons for having an FOID card is because it captured mental health and domestic violence records better than the Federal system; from what I read in the article you linked to, it failed because the state never followed through on the charges.
It appears there were warning flags but they were ignored – gee, sounds all too familiar …

      1. From what I’ve read, it sounds like they couldn’t be bothered to follow through multiple times; it undercuts what they claim they are doing to make people safe … but then, this IS Illinois we are talking about; that happens there alot.

To me, the biggest lesson to take out of this is how incomptetent these fruit loops are. Im no range rat, but if I took my zavasta SKS(think he had a norinco SKS IIRC), even though I have an internal 10 round mag and not the 30 round duckbill mag……there would be fatalities. anyone who has at least 10 rounds(and probably 30) at a range less than 100 yards should be able to kill at least five people before being taken out. For some entertainment, watch the john brown gun club’s range day LMAO.
