An Outright Assault on Your Rights

This blog post is intended as a warning. An outright assault is coming. The politicians are intent on destroying your rights, leaving you disarmed and defenseless, both against armed thugs and government tyranny.

I have friends who believed this latest tidal wave of infringements on your basic rights would die down. I hoped they were right, but I fear they’re wrong.

So brace yourselves.

In New York – the same place where my grandfather was attacked by two thugs wielding a two-by-four, hit over the head as he looked through other people’s trash to find some toys for me to play with or anything else that may have been useful for newly-arrived immigrants living in stinking poverty – Andrew Cuomo is vowing to make the citizens of his state even more helpless.

“We respect hunters and sportsmen. This is not taking away peoples’ guns,” Mr. Cuomo said. ”I own a gun. I own a Remington shotgun. I’ve hunted, I’ve shot. That’s not what this is about. It’s about ending the unnecessary risk of high-capacity assault rifles. That’s what this is about.”

To that end, the governor outlined the items on his seven-point gun plan.

“Number 1: Enact the toughest assault weapon ban in the nation, period!” he shouted, before ticking off his other new gun control proposals. “Number two, close the private sale loophole by requiring federal background checks. Number three, ban high-capacity magazines. Number four, enact tougher penalties for illegal gun use, guns in school grounds and violent gangs. Number five, keep guns from people who are mentally ill. Number six, ban direct internet sales of ammunition in New York. Number seven, create a state [National Instant Criminal Background Check System] check on all ammunition purchases.”

I guess Cuomo doesn’t understand the meaning of “shall not be infringed” and hasn’t read the Nazis’ disarmament law.

The President promises to act.

Vice President Joseph R. Biden vowed action on gun control from President Obama on Wednesday and floated the idea that Mr. Obama could use executive action to do so.

More broken promises from this administration and this President who promised years ago that he respects the Second Amendment. More disrespect for the Constitution and possible circumvention of the legislative branch. Is anyone really surprised?

And the assaults just keep coming.

Bill Clinton randomly decided to preach gun control at a trade show, of all places!

A petty, tyrannical dimwit from Iowa is calling for gun confiscations, obviously forgetting the meaning of the Second Amendment, private property, the Constitution and a whole host of other principles on which this nation was founded.

Lying Stolen Valor shitbag Richard Blumenthal, who is in the habit of embellishing his military service, has decided to call for background checks for anyone wishing to purchase ammunition in Connecticut. Maybe Dick should be investigated for lying about his military service and tossed out of the Senate for being a swine.

Your rights are under attack. You’d better start calling your government officials and informing them your rights are not theirs to decimate.

  1. At some point, Americans need to figure out that Executive Orders are not for the President to legislate by fiat; they are for the President to direct Executive Branch departments on how to administer a law made by Congress, or to direct those departments where the law has given the Executive Branch leeway. An Executive Order infringing on the right to keep and bear arms merits a lot more than a fifteen-yard penalty with loss of a down.

Simply put, he’s a president, not a gorram king.
