Thought: I HATE HATE HATE the townhall format. The undecided voters are morons. Their questions, for the most part, amounted to “what can the government do for me?” This translates to, “how much bigger can we grow the government?”
Hey, college student! There are no guarantees after college – even in a good economy. So work your ass off, get creative and get your resume out there. You’ll have a better chance than most.
Thought: The Second Amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports. As itchy and uncomfortable as it makes politicians, the Second Amendment is about the ability of the people to engage in armed resistance against tyranny.
We have every right to own those weapons. They are not and should not be restricted to Soldiers. That’s the way the Founders intended it.
The power of the sword, say the minority…, is in the hands of Congress. My friends and countrymen, it is not so, for The powers of the sword are in the hands of the yeomanry of America from sixteen to sixty. The militia of these free commonwealths, entitled and accustomed to their arms, when compared with any possible army, must be tremendous and irresistible. Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress has no power to disarm the militia. Their swords and every terrible implement of the soldier are the birthright of Americans. — Tench Coxe
Thought: the daft bint who asked about “assault weapons” had no idea what these weapons are.
Thought: Crimes with what the panty-wetters refer to as “assault rifles” constitute a TINY percentage of crimes committed with firearms. Minuscule.
Thought: the mere mention of terrorism in the Rose Garden after the Libya attack is not the same as admitting it was a terrorist attack. At no point on that speech did the President say the words “terrorist attack.” See for yourselves.
No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for. Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.
Thought: The President claims to believe in self reliance, and yet wants the government to force equality.
Thought: FORCING employers to fund birth control or anything else to which they have a moral objection =/= freedom.
Thought: machine guns are NOT illegal to own. Do your bloody research.
My first question would have been: what specific programs do you plan to cut in order to reduce spending? Be specific. What are you planning to cut?
I was annoyed.
