…and why is it in the news? And why does it matter for what politician it votes? And why is it so revoltingly orange, that orangutans in a zoo are hurling their excrement in a jealous rage?
First, Snooki took on Obama over Twitter. Then, Obama said he didn’t even know who she was. And on Thursday night’s second season premiere of MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” Snooki took the ball back, and went after Obama again.
In one scene, Snooki — with her impressively orange tan — broke the shocking news that she’s been staying away from her home away from home: Tanning salons.
“I don’t go tanning anymore because Obama put a 10% tax on tanning. McCain would never put a 10% tax on tanning. Because he’s pale and would probably want to be tan,” she said.
Congratulations, America. This is what votes for politicians in this country, and that’s why you’re left with the shoddy choices at election time.
And you wonder why this country is so monumentally fucked? Because this insipid twat’s vote counts as much as yours!
I’m very much pro-capitalism. I believe every company has the right and responsibility to maximize its profits. This, however, equates to theft in my book. Soldiers pay insurance premiums that are withdrawn from every paycheck. They have a right to expect that their regular monthly premiums will result in payment for their families should they die in combat.
So when the cocksuckers at Prudential and other insurance companies mess around with the families of Soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifices for this nation, it’s triply repugnant!
The package arrived at Cindy Lohman’s home in Great Mills, Maryland, just two weeks after she learned that her son, Ryan, a 24-year-old Army sergeant, had been killed by a bomb in Afghanistan. It was a thick, 9-inch-by- 12-inch envelope from Prudential Financial Inc., which handles life insurance for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Inside was a letter from Prudential about Ryan’s $400,000 policy. And there was something else, which looked like a checkbook. The letter told Lohman that the full amount of her payout would be placed in a convenient interest-bearing account, allowing her time to decide how to use the benefit.
“You can hold the money in the account for safekeeping for as long as you like,” the letter said. In tiny print, in a disclaimer that Lohman says she didn’t notice, Prudential disclosed that what it called its Alliance Account was not guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., Bloomberg Markets magazine reports in its September issue.
Lohman, 52, left the money untouched for six months after her son’s August 2008 death.
“It’s like you’re paying me off because my child was killed,” she says. “It was a consolation prize that I didn’t want.”
As time went on, she says, she tried to use one of the “checks” to buy a bed, and the salesman rejected it. That happened again this year, she says, when she went to a Target store to purchase a camera on Armed Forces Day, May 15.
I’d be voicing my displeasure with my wallet right now if I was in any way a customer of Prudential. Just saying….
I’ve been searching teh Intertubez for something to write about today, and as I peruse, I’m beginning to realize there’s something fundamentally wrong with our society. We’re the freest nation in the world. We offer the most opportunities, we protect personal liberties, we are a generous, courageous, honorable nation overall.
Despite all this, however, I have to ask myself what the flying hell is going on here?
Why does this shitbag still have a job – a job that pays him money out of the pockets of the very people he abuses on a regular basis?
Tammy Fox is Agent Chu’s latest victim. She was in the dirt near Elmhurst Hospital, trying to fix her flat tire, when Agent Chu sauntered up. Instead of offering help, like most New Yorkers would, he slapped her with a ticket.
“I said to him, ‘are you kidding me? You’re very insensitive. I’m going to visit my friend in the hospital who had cancer, and I’m trying to fix my flat tire, and you’re standing here writing me a ticket?'” Fox said.
Tammy hit the nail on the head when she used the word insensitive. The very day she got the ticket, CBS 2 told you that NYPD brass docked Chu’s pay and ordered him into sensitivity training for a raft of run-ins with the public and Queens Councilman Daniel Halloran.
“Apparently, the sensitivity training didn’t work,” Councilman Halloran said.
Halloran caught Agent Chu breaking enough traffic laws to lose his license speeding, going through stop signs, using flashing lights, talking on a cell phone just to get a cup of coffee. Halloran then received hundreds of complaints from constituents about Agent Chu, who even reportedly slapped tickets on members of a funeral procession.
Why did Southwest Airlines boot a normal-sized passenger who paid for her seat from an aircraft, so that a sow whose girth overflowed into the next seat, but who only paid for one seat, could take up two seats and overflow in peace?
The local woman was flying standby, paid full fare for the last available seat, got on board, stowed her bags and sat down only to be told she would have to deplane immediately.
A late-arriving passenger required two seats because of her girth.
The Sacramento woman, a frequent-flying sales rep, was stunned.
“It didn’t seem right that I should have to leave to accommodate someone who had only paid for one seat,” she tells us. (She has asked to remain anonymous for fear some may regard her as insensitive.)
She’s even more miffed because she says Southwest personnel berated her when she questioned the decision to boot her from the plane.
Worse yet, there’s something seriously wrong with a society where a woman can’t even voice her opposition to this type of injustice without fearing being called “insensitive” to some fat fuck.
After ramming trillion dollar health care “reform” down our throats…
After the nearly $900 “stimulus” that did nothing to stimulate anything other than my ire…
After borrowing trillions to pay for yet more government spending…
After demolishing our economy to such an extent, that the Chinese are considering dumping us…
The Office of Management and Budget report has ominous news for President Barack Obama should he seek re-election in 2012 — a still-high unemployment rate of 8.1 percent. That would be well above normal, which is closer to a rate of 5.5 percent to 6 percent. Private economists don’t think the unemployment rate will drop to those levels until well into this decade.
The gaping deficits are of increasing concern to voters. But Obama and Democrats controlling Congress are mostly taking a pass on deficit reduction this year as they await possible recommendations from Obama’s deficit commission.
While there’s a slight improvement in the deficit for the current year, next year’s predicted $1.42 trillion worth of red ink — that’s 37 cents of borrowing for every dollar spent — is looking worse. It’s about $150 billion more than previously predicted, because of still-slumping tax revenues.
White House budget director Peter Orszag said the numbers represent a “fiscal situation that requires attention.”
Gee, ya think?
Not news: Congress sucks more than ever.
Gallup’s 2010 Confidence in Institutions poll finds Congress ranking dead last out of the 16 institutions rated this year. Eleven percent of Americans say they have “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in Congress, down from 17% in 2009 and a percentage point lower than the previous low for Congress, recorded in 2008.
Really. Is anyone surprised by the 11 percent? Even the country’s biggest nitwits are expressing disappointment in the “leadership” of
This is the same daft bint who complained it was just fine to add $34 billion to the debt and the deficit by passing an extension of unemployment benefits. Why? Because Republicans did it too! They added to the deficit with their reckless spending… you know – cutting taxes for people who actually… um… PRODUCE! Yes, Republicans added to the deficit, but our national debt and our deficit levels are at staggering levels! Our deficit is nearly 11 percent of GDP this year, and the federal debt is at 94 percent of GDP – up from about 56 percent of GDP just 10 years ago.
This is a Congress that doesn’t give a flying rat’s shit about spending, complains about Republican stonewalling of their reckless spending (when, really – they had the votes and more to pass this bill all along), and thinks that somehow, giving people more “free” money will give them incentive to go to work.
Is it any wonder that their first stimulus did nothing to alleviate the jobless rate?
But living up to the definition of insanity is Congress’ forte, so they just try the same thing over and over again, hoping for different results.
